Hi, fellow members! This coming weekend (Labor Day weekend) is the very last weekend for swimming in 2014. We will have Open Pit all weekend long. Bring your food and charcoal and enjoy the last weekend of swimming!
On Labor Day, the Club will supply the charcoal for Open Pit. Hope to see everyone there to help close out the summer with fun and swimming!
On September 24th at 7:00 p.m., we will hold elections for the coming year. Most of the positions are open. If you are interested in running, call or email one of the board members.
Monday night Fantasy Football League will hold its draft on September 3, 2014 in the DPCC bar area. Anyone interested in joining must contact Don Murphy before the 3rd at 231-3878. The cost is $235 per team which includes a meal every Monday night.
Finally, with regard to the Social Committee, I was the only one to show up for the last meeting. While I would love to have events each month for both adult and kid members of the club, I cannot do it alone. Anyone who would like to help put on social functions over the fall/winter, please attend the next social meeting Thursday, August 28th at 7:00 p.m.
PAJAMA PARTY MOVIE NIGHT!
Saturday, June 28th
6 P.M. until 9 P.M.
Kids can come in their pajamas to enjoy snacks, a movie, and games. A $3 donation per child to cover the cost of the snacks is appreciated! ($5 for non-members).
Parents can enjoy a night off!
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org so we can ensure we have enough snacks for everyone.
Good evening! I hope everyone is having a great summer! I wanted to update everyone on a few items.
Social Committee Survey
I have created a VERY short survey to gauge member interest in possible social events. Please take a few minutes to fill it out and let us know what events you would like to see! Also, there will be a Social Committee meeting on Tuesday, June 24th at 6:30 pm. Come out and help plan all the fun! (There will be wine and snacks at the meeting).
Friday Night BBQ
We are continuing the long-honored tradition of Friday Night BBQs. Please come out and join in the fun. Starting next Friday, June 27th, we will host a game or two for the kids and have prizes for the winners. Don’t forget to gather your friends and sign up to cook for a night. It’s a great way to meet your fellow members!
Swim Team Reminder
Remember that the swim team has practices every Monday from 6 pm to 7 pm and on Saturdays until 11:00 am. Also, the pool will be closed on the evenings of July 8th and July 15th for swim meets. Come out and cheer on the team!
Open Pit Reminder
Enjoy poolside grilling every weekend for the duration of the summer. The grill will be available every Saturday and Sunday during pool hours. Bring in your own items to grill and charcoal. It’s a great way to make every weekend special for your family during the summer.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email or call.
Virginia R. Williams
Saturday, June 7th is Kenner Night at Zephyrs Stadium. Tickets are half price and Half Pint Brawlers will be performing. Baseball Caps will be given to the first 1,000 guests to arrive at the stadium. (More details below). If you are interested in getting tickets, contact Virginia at email@example.com or 504-388-5560.
Splash Day is today starting at noon! There will be games for the kids: Coconut Bowling, Hula Hoop Contest, Frozen Shirt Race, and more! Hope to see you there.
We are all so excited that summer has finally arrived! The pool is ready for swimming, the grill has been warmed up, the beer is stocked in the cooler. Time to head to the club for lots of fun!
This Friday, May 23, begins the merriment with our first Friday night bar-b-que of the season. The board will be grillin’ and chillin’ for all to enjoy! I also heard a rumor that there may be a special cocktail for the evening. So come on out and lets kick this off with a bang.
Saturday will be our annual “Splash Day” celebration. There will be games for the kids and time for all of the adults to catch up on what everyone else has been doing during the long, cold winter. Splash Day is also open house, so bring your friends and especially neighbors who may have an interest in joining our club. We will have board members on hand to show them around and explain the membership options and costs.
